2年前撞死巴西学生2司机最终判了

据CTV News 报道，两年前在本拿比发生的一起致命交通意外，导致一名14岁巴西交换生死亡，最终裁决2名司机不小心驾驶罪名成立，每人被罚$1600元，无须吊销驾驶执照和禁驾。

法官David St. Pierre周四（9月24日）下午表示，尽管事故结局悲惨，但2名司机仍未被判刑。事故发生当天，天气情况不佳。两名司机也都表示，意外发生之前，已查看清楚两边道路情况，并没有发现行人，直至最后一刻才发现死者横过马路。并且两名当事人对这起交通意外造成14岁的Fernanda Girotto死亡感到后悔和懊恼，明白事件给死者家属带来的伤害。

最终法庭裁定两名司机不小心驾驶，每人被罚款1600元。根据庭审文件显示，这起交通意外不涉及超速或醉驾等因素。

事发于2018年1月17日一个下雨的清晨，7点左右，在本拿比一号公路南侧Cariboo Road，14岁的巴西交换生Fernanda Girotto横过马路时，被一辆小型货车撞倒，而后又被另一辆私家车辗过并拖行40余米，当场死亡。 

事故发生后，本拿比市府证实，事故现场是交通黑点，居民曾多次投诉。

2020年2月，BC省级法院法官裁定，涉案两名司机不小心驾驶等多项罪名成立。

去年11月开庭审讯期间，小型货车司机在作供时表示，曾经向左右两方察看，但最初未有发现死者，直至他最后一刻见到Girotto时，已经为时已晚。

另一名涉案司机则表示，这是一场意外，没人希望这种情况发生。

检察官曾要求对两名驾驶员实施禁止驾驶并处以罚款：其中对小型货车司机进行为期两年的驾驶禁令和罚款2,000元，另一名司机进行一年的驾驶禁令和罚款1,000元。
